2018 -  Göteborg Operan / SRK collaboration

In 2018 the lantern workshops took place in the Aula at HDK to accommodate the growing number of participants. Over 400 lanterns were created and the final procession culminated at Göteborgs Operan where the participants were greeted by the Göteborgs Operan/Red Cross International Choir, SpinnUnga inclusive dance company and young musicians and poets from Iran, Syria and Afghanistan. A key inspiration for the procession in 2018 was a song written by Jalil Huseini from Lundby Språkintroduktion - "Count me as a human being" about Jalil's escape from Afganistan and vulnerability; vulnerability and uncertainty that continues even now in Sweden. Many participants identified with this song as they recognized their own situation in the story.
