2020 -Equal under the same sky

“” (Lika under samma himmel) was the theme for the 5th annual River of Light (ROL). This  theme focussed on achieving social justice by reducing inequality, closing the gap so that we can ALL live well and in peace under the same sky. To highlight the theme a number of newly arrived artists made work responding to the theme including Syrian sculptor Mohannad Solaiman who made a two metre long Peace Dove.

For the second time River of Light was based at the World Culture Museum and offered open workshops for those who wished to make a lantern during Sportlov. The Museum also provided the ideal venue for a celebratory concert following the procession. This year the guest artists were Twisted Feet Dance Academy; Baobab Percussion; Feeghan Khalil; Clowner utan Gränser and Hip Hop girl band GangSheBang.
